A Chatwoot alternative for teams that would rather not self-host

Chatwoot is open source and the community edition is free to host. That's a real choice, with a real bill in maintenance time. Cuego is a managed platform where customer data, knowledge, workflows and AI already hang together.

The Cuego inbox: all channels in one workbench, with SLA per conversation

Chatwoot does something most parties in this market don't: the source code is public and you may run it yourself. Anyone with a technical team who wants to keep conversations on their own servers has a good argument there. That argument can't be compared away, and we won't try.

The question is what still has to happen after that. Self-hosting means running updates, testing backups, following security patches and diving into logs yourself when something breaks. On top of that comes the substance: a conversation channel isn't yet an answer. The link to your webshop, the knowledge an answer comes from and the workflow that follows are yours to build. With Cuego that's already attached.

Plan structure and prices from the vendors' own pricing pages and documentation (Chatwoot), checked on 4 September 2026. Vendors change their terms regularly, so check the current pricing page before you decide. Where a figure could not be established at the source, the comparison names the pricing model instead of an amount.

What it delivers

What bringing context and action together means in practice.

Cuego runs as a service, so updates, security and availability don't sit with your own team. There's no server to maintain and no infrastructure of your own needed for the AI.

Data is stored in the EU; the processing agreement is available per customer.

Frequently asked questions

No. Cuego is a managed platform with closed source. If you want to be able to inspect and run the code yourself, that's a genuine argument for Chatwoot and we'll say so plainly. What we put against it is that maintenance, integrations, AI and security sit with us.
